Chasing After Blessings? Or Chasing After God?
"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God." — Deuteronomy 28:2 (NKJV)
We all want the blessings. We want our bank accounts full, our bodies healthy, and our kids acting right. Deuteronomy 28 tells us that God wants to bless you in the city, bless you in the field, and bless everything you put your hand to. That sounds amazing, doesn't it?
But we often get so busy chasing after the blessings that we forget to chase after the Blesser!
The blessings overtake you because you obey the voice of God. Your job isn't to run ragged trying to make things happen in your own strength. Your job is to focus on God, listen to Him, and do what He tells you to do—even when it's hard, and even when you don't feel like it.
When you get your priorities straight and put God first, you won't have to hunt down a blessing. The blessing will hunt you down. It will literally trip you up and overtake you! Just love God, obey His Word, and watch His goodness chase you down.
Decree:
Thank You, Lord, I am not chasing blessings; I am chasing God. As I obey His voice, His goodness and mercy are running after me and overtaking me today! Amen.
