Focus on the Promise, Not the Problem

"Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!" — Psalm 42:11 (NLT)

When you look at circumstances and feel sad, your hope drains right out of you.

But hope is not a wishy-washy feeling. It is not saying, "Well, I hope things get better, but they probably won't."

True biblical hope is a positive expectation of good. It is an aggressive, determined attitude that says, "God is working behind the scenes, and something good is about to happen in my life!"

You cannot control everything that happens to you, but you can control what you look at. Stop staring at your problems and start staring at the promises of God. If you stay in hope, the enemy cannot defeat you. Make a decision today to change your focus. God has a great plan for your future, so shake off the discouragement, put a smile on your face, and expect something good today!

Decree:
Today, I intentionally shake off all discouragement, negativity, and doubt. I refuse to stare at my problems, and I choose to fix my eyes on the promises of God. I declare that my mind is set on a positive expectation of good, and I fully expect something great to happen in my life today. I am filled with His supernatural joy and peace. In Jesus' name, Amen!
