Shut your mouth
“Do everything without complaining or arguing.” Philippians 2:14 ERV
Think of it this way: when you complain, you magnify the problem. But when you give thanks, you magnify God.
Let’s be honest—complaining can feel almost automatic for most people. It’s easy to slip into negativity, but God’s Word calls you higher. Complaining doesn’t change your situation—it only drains your strength and steals your joy (and the joy of others). Every time you choose to give thanks instead of complaining, you enter into praise and align with God rather than your circumstances.
You may not be able to control everything that happens today, but you can control your response—your words. And that response has the power to shape your entire day. You don’t need to complain—God is already at work.
Decree:
Thank You, Lord, that you are helping me guard my mouth and my attitude today. When I’m tempted to complain, remind me of Your goodness. Teach me to stop and respond with gratitude and trust, knowing that You are working all things out for my good. Amen.
