Trusting God When It Feels Finished

45 At noon the whole country became dark. The darkness continued for three hours.46 About three o’clock Jesus cried out loudly, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” This means “My God, my God, why have you left me alone?”
Matthew 27:45-46 ERV

Matthew 27 walks us through one of the darkest moments in history—the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus. It’s painful, unjust, and, at first glance, it looks like defeat. But what seemed like the end was actually God’s greatest victory.

Jesus was betrayed, falsely accused, mocked, and ultimately crucified. He didn’t deserve any of it—yet He endured it willingly. Why? Because He trusted the Father’s plan.

Sometimes in life, we face situations where you may be thinking, “This isn’t right. Why is this happening to me?”
What looks like a setback may actually be a setup for something greater.

When Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” He was expressing deep anguish—but He still stayed on the cross. HE DIDN’T QUIT.

He trusted God all the way.

Don’t give up in the middle of your hard season. God is still working, even when you can’t see it. Your situation may look final—but God has the final say.
