a thankful heart is happy heart
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
A grateful heart doesn’t wait for everything to be perfect—it makes a conscious decision to see God right in the middle of real life. Gratitude shifts our focus from what’s lacking to what’s already been lovingly placed in our hands.
Notice it doesn’t say for all circumstances—but in them. A thankful heart is a practiced heart—meaning you choose joy, you choose to pray, and you always find reasons to give thanks. Gratitude becomes an act of trust, declaring that God is still present, still working, still good.
Today, talk to God. Name a few things—big or small—that you’re thankful for.
A thankful heart is one that stays close to God, no matter what the day brings.
Decree:
I choose gratitude. I will rejoice and give thanks in every moment.
I fix my eyes on God’s goodness, not my circumstances.
