You are already chosen
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." — John 15:16 (ESV)
I know what it feels like to try to make everything happen on your own—because I’ve been there. For a long time, I believed that I had to work harder, be better, and somehow earn God’s approval. And honestly? That path only led me straight into burnout and frustration. This scripture should completely shift your perspective. Jesus says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you.”
Let that sink in—you didn’t earn this. You weren’t picked because you had it all together. He chose you simply because He wanted you. Before you even realized you needed Him, He had already called you His own. It doesn’t stop there—He also appointed you. That means your life has purpose. You’re not just passing through, there’s a plan for your life to bear fruit that lasts.
So many of us spend our lives trying to prove ourselves, hoping to be noticed, hoping to be chosen. But you already have been—by the King of Kings. You don’t have to compete or compare. You don’t have to chase someone else’s path or feel less than because of their success.
Your role is simple, stay connected to the vine and trust Him. It’s not about striving harder—it’s about depending deeper.
Decree:
I declare that I am chosen, loved, and appointed by God. I walk in purpose, bearing fruit that will last. I release comparison, pressure, and fear. I rest in His grace and move forward in confidence and peace. Amen.
