God Will Not Abandon You

“Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?” -Hebrews 13:5-6 MSG

When you've experienced abandonment, your heart may begin preparing for it before it happens.

A delayed text can feel like rejection.

Distance can feel like danger.

Someone's change in tone can immediately make you wonder if you've done something wrong.

Past abandonment can teach the heart to expect future abandonment.

But God does not relate to you the way people have.

People can leave.

People can change.

People can disappoint us.

People can fail to love us well.

But God's presence is not fragile.

He doesn't disappear when you're difficult.

He doesn't walk away because you're struggling.

He doesn't abandon you because you have questions, fears, or weaknesses.

His promise is:

“I will never leave you.”

Healing doesn't mean you will never feel afraid of being abandoned again. It means that when the fear comes, you have a deeper truth to return to.

God is still here.

When anxiety or fear of abandonment rises today, pause before reacting.
Take a breath and declare:
God is here. I am not alone.

Decree:
Jesus, Thank You, for meeting me in the places where I am afraid of being left. Help me remember that Your presence is not dependent on someone else's presence. Teach my heart to recognize that I am never alone with You. Amen.
