Grace is a safety net, not a hammock
"Some people have secretly entered your group... They have turned the grace of our God into an excuse for doing sinful things... Remember what the Lord did. He saved his people out of the land of Egypt. But later he destroyed all those who did not believe."— Jude 1:4-5 (ERV)
Simply put: don't abuse the blessing. God’s grace is not a license to live whichever way you will.
Sometimes we think, "Well, God loves me and He will forgive me, so it doesn't matter if I lose my temper, integrity, or live a compromised life." That is a dangerous trap set by the enemy.
Jude warns us about people in the church who tried to change the definition of grace. They turned God's beautiful, empowering favor into an excuse to live sloppy, selfish lives.
Grace isn't a get-out-of-jail-free card for sin. Grace is God’s power given to you to live a holy, victorious life. You cannot buy into the lie that your actions don't matter to God. He loves you too much to let you stay stuck in behaviors that destroy you, your peace, and joy. I challenge you to make a decision to protect your heart, stop making excuses for things you know God is asking you to change. When you stumble, thank God for His mercy, get right back up, and use His grace to do better next time.
Decree:
I decree that God's grace empowers me to live a holy, victorious life. I reject all excuses, compromises, and deceptive thoughts. I am free from complaining, doubting, and unbelief. I walk in full faith to possess my Promised Land.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
