Stop Talking

"Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few." – Ecclesiastes 5:2 (NIV)

Do you talk way too much—especially if you are stressed out? You’re not alone. When things go wrong, our immediate reaction is to start venting, complaining, and telling God and everyone else exactly how to fix our problems. We rush into our prayer closet with a list for Him, and then we wonder why we don’t have any peace!

King Solomon gave us a reality check: Zip your lip and listen. We are on earth, but God is in heaven. He sees the big picture and has everything under control. Our view is limited. When you spend all your time talking, you aren't learning anything new, and you surely aren't hearing from the Holy Spirit. Let your words be few, intentional, and filled with praise.

Decree:
Thank you, Father, that I will not be quick with my mouth or hasty in my heart. I release the need to fix everything with my own words and arguments. You see everything, from beginning to end, and I trust that You have it all under control. Amen!
