We Honor and Remember

“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” - John 15:12-13 NLT

Today, on Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Their sacrifice reflects the powerful truth of John 15:13 — there is no greater love than laying down one’s life for others.

The freedoms and peace we enjoy each day came at a great cost. Behind them are heroes and families who gave everything in service to our country.

As we spend time with loved ones today, let us remember those who made that possible. We honor them with grateful hearts and by living lives worthy of their sacrifice.

Lord, today, we lift up the families and loved ones of the heroes who gave their lives in service to our nation, asking that You surround them with Your comfort and peace. Instill in us to never take our freedom for granted, and to always remember the heavy price that was paid for it. In Amen.
