Led by The Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law."
— Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)

We have reached the finish line of the Fruits of the Spirit this week, and God saves some of the most powerful character traits for last.
Faithfulness means being reliable—loyal, steadfast, and dedicated to a person, cause, or belief. It means doing what you said you would do.
Gentleness means having power under control. It is being kind and calm, not using harsh words to force people to do what you want.
And finally, there is self-control, also called “Christ-control” in the church. We cannot control our tempers, thoughts, appetites, or tongues by our own human strength. If willpower alone worked, we’d all be perfect by now!

You do not have to live your life driven by constant changing emotions. You do not have to say everything you think or react to every insult. Because the Holy Spirit lives inside you, you have the supernatural power to say “no” to wrong impulses and “yes” to God’s best. Let Jesus lead your thoughts and words.

Decree:
Lord, thank You for completing these fruits in me. Thank You, for guarding my mouth so that I speak with gentleness. Thank You, for giving me the strength of self-control to master my thoughts, words, and reactions. I depend entirely on Your grace to live a life that honors You. Amen.
