“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” — Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
We know a cheerful heart is good medicine. But you can’t keep a happy heart if you leave the front door open for any old garbage to walk right in. Solomon tells us to guard our hearts above everything else. Why? Because your heart is the control center of your life. Whatever you let inside will eventually run your mouth, ruin your day, and wreck your relationships.
Joy doesn't just happen. You have to CHOOSE it, and you have to protect it. If you spend your day scrolling social media, comparing your life to others, or rehearsing old offenses, you are poisoning your own well. You need to be the security guard of your mind. When a negative, worried thought knocks on the door, don't invite it in for toast. Stop letting the devil steal your peace. Take control of your heart today!
Decree:
I decree that my heart belongs to God, and I will guard it with all diligence.
I refuse to give my peace away to traffic, difficult people, or problems.
I close the door to grumbling, complaining, and comparison. I open my heart to the Holy Spirit, and I declare that His joy is my strength and my medicine. I will enjoy my life today, in Jesus' name, Amen!
