What's Powering Your Heart?

“And do not be grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and your stronghold.” — Nehemiah 8:10 (AMP)

This week we’re really focussing on how vital it is to guard our hearts, because absolutely everything in our lives flows out of it. So, what is the next step? Once you are guarding your heart and keeping it healthy, you have to hook it up to the right power source. You can have a brand-new, top-of-the-line refrigerator, but if it is not plugged into the outlet, the food inside is still going to spoil! The exact same thing is true for your heart. You cannot experience a consistently joyful, happy life if you are trying to create joy in your own strength. True joy is a fruit of the Spirit, and it comes entirely from your relationship with Jesus. The devil stays trying to get you stressed out, overwhelmed, and completely drained. Why? Because he knows that if he can steal your joy, he steals your strength. When you are operating out of frustration, you are weak and easily defeated. But when you plug your heart into God's presence through prayer, praise, and reading His Word, you receive a supernatural joy. Today, plug your heart into the power source of the Holy Spirit.

Decree:
Today, I choose to connect my heart to the joy of the Lord. I am not going to live stressed out, grieved, or depressed. God is on my side, He is working all things together for my good, and His joy is my stronghold! Amen.
