God's Stress Cure (And It Costs Zero Dollars)

“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” - Proverbs 17:22 AMPC

When was the last time you had a really good belly laugh? Too many people go through life carrying everything on their shoulders, looking like they were baptized in vinegar. They are stressed about the bills, their future, and angry with the morning traffic. We get so serious about everything that we forget how to enjoy the life Jesus died to give us. God didn't design you to live under constant pressure. In fact, He built a natural stress-reliever right into your body. His Word says a cheerful heart is like good medicine. Notice it doesn't say a lecture, or a complain-session, or a pity party. It is medicine. And just like regular medicine, it doesn't do you any good if it just sits on the shelf. You have to take it! You don’t have to wait until circumstances are perfect before you can be happy. BUT if you wait until everything in your life is flawless to start laughing, you are never going to laugh. You have to learn to laugh right in the middle of the mess. Laugh at your mistakes. Laugh when you drop your keys. Laugh when things don't go your way, because getting upset isn't going to fix it anyway. If you want to change your life, you have to choose your focus. Successful people don't just happen to have joyful lives; they intentionally schedule joy. They make a decision to get their hopes up and keep a cheerful mindset. If you want to dry up your bones, keep stressing. But if you want to activate God's healing power in your mind, your emotions, and your physical body, you need to open your mouth and let some joy out.
Joy is your strength, so take your medicine today!

Decree:
I choose joy today. I cast all my worries onto God and refuse to live stressed.
A cheerful heart is my medicine, so I welcome laughter and healing into my body and mind. Joy is my strength, and today is going to be a great day.
In Jesus' name, Amen!
