Favor Begins With God’s Presence

“15 Then Moses said, ‘If you do not agree to go with us, do not let us go anywhere. 16 If you do not go with us, nobody will know that you are pleased with me. Nobody will know that you are pleased with us as your special people. I, and all your people, will be the same as all the other people in the world.’ 17 The Lord said to Moses, ‘I will certainly do what you have asked for. This is because I am pleased with you. I know you by your name.’ - Exodus 33:15-17 EASY

Moses understood something profound:

The greatest favor was not the destination. It was God’s presence.

Moses didn’t want to move forward simply because there was an opportunity.

He wanted to know:

“Is God going with me?”

Sometimes we ask God:

“Open this door.”

But a better prayer is:

“God, if You open the door, go with me through it.”

Favor begins with relationship.

Before asking God for what His hand can give you, seek the God whose hand is upon your life.

When God’s presence becomes more important than the blessing, your heart becomes prepared to steward the blessing.

Thank God for five ways His presence has carried you through difficult seasons.

Spend 15 minutes today in God’s presence without asking for anything. Simply worship. Thank Him. Sit quietly. Tell Him:

“I want You more than I want what You can give me.”

 Prayer
Father, I desire Your presence above everything else. Go before me. Guide me. Protect me. Give me wisdom to know which doors are from You and which doors I should leave closed. Let Your presence be the greatest evidence of Your favor in my life.

Decree:
The presence of God goes before me.
I do not move ahead of God; I move with God. His grace is upon me, His wisdom guides me, and His presence establishes my steps.
