Gratitude in Every Season
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
-1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
Notice that Scripture says:
“In everything give thanks.”
It does not say we have to be thankful for everything.
We do not have to be thankful for pain.
We do not have to be thankful for betrayal.
We do not have to be thankful for loss.
But even in difficult seasons, we can still find reasons to thank God.
We can thank Him because He is with us.
Because we are not alone.
Because the story is not over.
Because pain does not get the final word.
Because even when we do not understand what God is doing, we can trust who He is.
Gratitude is not pretending that life is perfect.
Gratitude is choosing to recognize that God is still present in the middle of an imperfect life. Today, let gratitude become a lifestyle.
Not just something you practice when life is good.
But something that anchors your soul in every season.
Today’s Goal Toward Gratitude
Begin a daily practice:Every morning, say: “Thank You, God, for this new day.”During the day, notice: Three unexpected blessings.Every night, write:Three things I am grateful for today.Prayer
Father, teach me to live with a grateful heart. Not only when life is easy, but in every season. When I do not understand, help me trust You.
When I feel discouraged, help me remember You are near.
When I am tempted to complain, remind me to pause and look again.
There is always evidence of Your goodness.
Let gratitude become part of who I am.
May my attitude reflect Your peace.
May my words reflect Your goodness.
May my heart remain thankful.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Decree
I choose gratitude in every season.
I will not allow complaining to become my identity. My attitude is changing, my perspective is changing, and I actively recognize the goodness of God.
