Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” - Proverbs 17:22 AMPC

Your attitude can influence how you move through life.

Two people can experience a similar situation and see it completely differently.

One sees only the obstacle. The other looks for the opportunity.

One sees what was lost. The other recognizes what is still left.

This does not mean you must always be happy or ignore pain. God gives us permission to grieve, cry, and be honest. But we do have the power to choose what we continually feed. If you feed your mind fear, negativity, comparison, and complaining, those things will eventually influence your attitude. But when you intentionally feed your soul truth, gratitude, hope, and faith, your perspective begins to rise.

Your attitude determines your altitude.

Your circumstances may be on the ground, but your perspective does not have to stay there. You can rise above negativity. You can rise above complaining.

You can rise above the belief that this moment is the whole story. Ask Yourself:

What has been pulling my attitude down?

What thoughts have I been feeding?

What would it look like for me to rise above negativity today?

Today’s Goal Toward Gratitude

Every time you notice a negative thought, ask:

“What is God’s perspective?”

Then intentionally replace it with a grateful thought.

Prayer

Father, help me shift and keep my focus on You. Help me resist negativity, fear, and discouragement. I will no longer allow circumstances to determine my attitude. I choose Your truth to shape the way I see my life. Thank You, as I put The Word before my eyes, You renew my mind and strengthen my soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Decree:
I take every thought captive and subject all thinking to Jesus Christ. My perspective is changing. I will not remain trapped in negativity. I control my attitude. I choose faith, hope, joy, and gratitude.

Affirmations

  • My attitude is not controlled by my circumstances.

  • I choose gratitude.

  • I am filled with Joy
